Changan UNI-V fastback sedans for export

The UNI-V is Changan’s C-segment fastback sedan and the volume export car in the UNI line: 4,680 mm long, 1,430 mm tall, on a 2,750 mm wheelbase, with a 380-litre boot behind a lifting tailgate. It is the body ride-hailing operators and corporate fleets buy, because the silhouette reads as premium while the running cost stays at compact-sedan level.

Three specifications are exported. The 1.5T DCT is the volume car at roughly 6.1 L/100 km. The 2.0T with the Aisin 8-speed automatic is the 233 PS flagship, bought one or two at a time as a showroom halo. The iDD plug-in hybrid covers 136 km on the CLTC cycle on grid power and 1,160 km combined, and it is the only UNI that attracts new-energy-vehicle duty relief in several ASEAN and Latin American markets.

All three are left-hand drive, built at Chongqing, and shipped 0 km CBU by Ro-Ro, 40HQ container (three units per box) or the Khorgos rail block train.

Which UNI-V specification should a fleet buyer order?

The 1.5T DCT, unless something specific rules it out. It is the cheaper car, 90 kg lighter, and burns 0.8 L/100 km less. Move to the 2.0T only where altitude or permanent stop-start traffic makes a dual-clutch the wrong gearbox, and to the iDD only where petrol is above roughly USD 1.20 a litre and drivers reliably charge overnight.
