Terms & conditions

These terms govern quotations and orders placed with Changan UNI Global B2B Car Export Hub. Where a signed sales contract exists for a specific shipment, that contract prevails over anything on this page.

1. Quotations and pricing

Any figure given by email, WhatsApp or in conversation is indicative only and moves with the exchange rate, the steel and freight markets and factory allocation. A binding price exists only on a proforma invoice, and a proforma invoice is valid for seven calendar days from issue unless it states otherwise.

2. Orders and payment

An order is accepted when a 30% telegraphic transfer deposit clears against a signed proforma invoice, or when an irrevocable letter of credit at sight from a prime bank is confirmed. The balance of 70% falls due against a copy bill of lading. Production lead times run from cleared funds, not from signature. We do not accept open account, escrow platforms, cryptocurrency, or payment from a third party not named on the contract.

3. Deposits and cancellation

Deposits are refundable in full until the production slot is confirmed by the factory, after which they are non-refundable, because the allocation cannot be released. If we fail to deliver a confirmed allocation, the deposit is refunded in full within 14 days and we carry any bank charges.

4. Inspection

Buyers may appoint SGS, Intertek or Bureau Veritas, at their cost, to inspect at the loading yard before the balance falls due. Claims about condition or specification must be raised against that inspection report. Where a buyer declines inspection, condition claims after loading are limited to latent defects covered by the manufacturer warranty.

5. Title and risk

Title passes on receipt of cleared funds in full. Risk passes in accordance with the Incoterm on the proforma invoice — for FOB and CIF that is when the goods are on board at the port of shipment, and for CPT and CIP when the goods are handed to the first carrier. Note that under CIF the seller pays the freight but the risk still passes at the ship rail.

6. Delivery and delays

Lead times are estimates in good faith based on the factory schedule. We are not liable for delays caused by factory scheduling, port congestion, vessel omission, customs action, weather or any event outside our reasonable control. We will keep you informed and re-book at the earliest available sailing at no additional margin.

7. Warranty

Vehicles carry the manufacturer warranty of Chongqing Changan Automobile Company Limited: three years or 100,000 km on the vehicle and, for the UNI-V iDD, eight years or 150,000 km on the traction battery. The warranty is honoured by the appointed Changan distributor in the destination market. Where no distributor exists, claims are handled as a parts-credit arrangement: approved parts are shipped at no charge and the buyer carries the labour. Steering conversion, unauthorised modification, or use of non-genuine parts voids it.

8. Import obligations

Import clearance, duty, taxes, registration and local homologation are the buyer’s obligation under all Incoterms we quote. We supply the documents clearance depends on — see the export process page for the full list — but we do not act as importer of record and we do not clear customs on your behalf.

9. Liability

Our aggregate liability in respect of any order is limited to the invoice value of that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of contract, demurrage or storage charges arising from a delay outside our control.

10. Intellectual property

Changan, UNI, UNI-T, UNI-V and iDD are trademarks of Chongqing Changan Automobile Company Limited. Vehicle photography on this site is manufacturer press material used to describe the goods offered. We are an independent export trading operation and do not claim to be the manufacturer.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Disputes not resolved commercially are referred to arbitration at the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), seated in Chongqing, conducted in English.
