Fleet, dealer and government tender supply
Volume pricing starts at 10 units and improves again at 30 and at 100 per year. Below 10 units you are buying at the standard quotation for that shipment. Above 100 units a year the conversation moves from a discount to an SKD assembly agreement. What you land at depends on the model mix, the destination and the payment structure as much as on the unit count.
What are the volume tiers?
Four, and the jump that matters most commercially is the first one — going from nine units to ten changes both the unit price and the shipping mode, because a dedicated container consolidation replaces shared space.
| Volume | Buyer type | Pricing | Logistics |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1-9 units | Retail / trial | Standard quotation | Ro-Ro or shared container |
| 10-29 units | Dealer stock | Tier 1 discount | Dedicated container consolidation |
| 30-99 units | Fleet | Tier 2 discount | Part-charter or block rail allocation |
| 100+ units / year | Distributor or SKD | Tier 3 + SKD eligibility | Scheduled monthly lifting |
Discount percentages are set per enquiry against the model mix, the destination and the payment structure, which is why they are not published. A single-model 30-unit order earns more than a 30-unit order split across five specifications.
What do government and NGO tenders need?
A tender pack, and we build it to the tender document rather than sending a generic brochure. The recurring requirements across the tenders we have supported are:
- A manufacturer authorisation letter naming the tendering entity, issued on Changan letterhead for that specific tender number.
- A technical compliance matrix mapping each tender line item to a published specification, with the source cited.
- Parts price list and a written availability commitment — ten years from build date for the UNI line.
- A service and training plan: technician training at the destination, diagnostic tooling, and the workshop manual set.
- A performance bond or bid bond, usually 2 to 10 percent, arranged through the bank named in the tender.
For altitude-sensitive or arduous-duty tenders we normally propose the UNI-T 2.0T rather than the 1.5T, because the Aisin 8-speed torque-converter automatic survives the duty cycle a dual-clutch does not — and a tender evaluator will usually mark up a transmission choice that is explained rather than defended.
Can you supply SKD kits for local assembly?
Yes, for the UNI-T 1.5T and UNI-V 1.5T, from a 100-unit annual commitment. Full CKD is a factory-level agreement negotiated directly with Changan and we will make that introduction rather than pretend to broker it.
SKD is how importers in Ethiopia, Kazakhstan and Egypt cut the duty that applies to a complete built-up vehicle. A kit ships as body-in-white plus painted panels, driveline, glass, trim and wiring across two 40HQ containers per unit set, and the local plant handles final assembly, fluid fill and pre-delivery inspection. You will need a paint shop only if your customs authority requires a higher local value-add threshold than painted-panel SKD delivers.
Before committing capital to an SKD line, check the duty differential against the actual assembly cost. In several markets the saving is real; in others the CBU duty is low enough that SKD never repays the plant. We will run that comparison with you honestly, including the case where the answer is that you should keep importing CBU.
How is a dealer stock programme structured?
A rolling quarterly allocation with a fixed model mix, priced at the tier that matches the annual commitment rather than the individual lifting. A typical first-year showroom takes 24 units a year: sixteen UNI-V 1.5T as volume stock, four UNI-T 1.5T, two UNI-T 2.0T and two UNI-V 2.0T as demonstrators, plus the UNI-V iDD only where the market has charging and NEV duty relief. That mix keeps the showroom stocked without the flagship grades tying up working capital.
