Buy the UNI-T if your drivers need ride height and load space; buy the UNI-V if they need fuel economy and a low silhouette. The two cars share the Blue Whale engine family and nothing else that changes a fleet business case.

Where the UNI-T wins
Ground clearance and approach angle. On unsealed roads and speed-bump-heavy African city routes, a 1,565 mm-tall SUV survives duty that costs a 1,430 mm sedan a front lip every few months. The folded 1,050 L load bay also makes the UNI-T the only one of the two that works as a service or inspection vehicle.
The 20-inch wheels are a liability, not a feature, in those same markets: a 245/45 R20 tyre is expensive and hard to source outside major cities. Ask us to ship the Elite grade on 19s if the fleet will operate outside the capital.
Where the UNI-V wins
Running cost, and it is not close over a fleet lifetime. The UNI-V is 50 kg lighter, sits on narrower and cheaper rubber, and returns 6.1 L/100 km against 6.5. Over 60,000 km a year at USD 1.20 a litre, that 0.4 L/100 km difference is about USD 290 per car per year. Multiply by a 40-car ride-hailing fleet and it pays for a spare car.
What about the 2.0T and the iDD?
- UNI-T 2.0T: order it for altitude above roughly 2,000 m, or anywhere a dual-clutch will spend its life crawling. The Aisin 8-speed torque converter is the reason, not the 233 PS.
- UNI-V 2.0T: a showroom halo, not a fleet car. One or two per container alongside volume stock.
- UNI-V iDD: the right answer where petrol is above roughly USD 1.30 a litre and drivers can charge overnight. 136 km CLTC electric range covers a full urban shift.
